Forty-eight states have some form of regulation for dietitians. The majority of these states have mandatory licensure similar to North Carolina’s law. Some have less restrictive laws and require only registration or certification. NCBDN honors reciprocity from any state with a licensure law at least equivalent to the Dietetic Practice Act.
