Question:

What can happen if I forget to renew my license?

Answer:

Occasionally this does happen. However, a valid license is mandatory for practicing dietetics/nutrition in North Carolina. Practicing dietetics/nutrition without a license is a violation of the law and a person may be subject to penalties.

Individuals failing to renew by March 31st will be notified and be given an opportunity to renew their licenses with an additional fee. A renewal application received after the postmarked date of March 31st will be assessed a $75.00 late fee. Licenses not renewed by May 31st will be considered lapsed, and will fall under the NCBDN’s Lapsed License Procedure.
